Introduction
The Die Configuration Tool is available as a native app for iPhone and iPad, fully in sync with the web app: the same die parameters, the same real-time cross-section, and the same proprietary calculations performed by United Die Company's servers. Design at your desk in the browser, then review a configuration on an iPad at the drawing bench or check a dimension from the shop floor on your phone.
Getting the App
Download DCT from the App Store:
On first launch, accept the End User License Agreement, then sign in with the same access code you use for the web app. Don't have one? Request access at udico.co/dct/dct → Get Started. (Access is free for Udico customers; prospective customers can request a 30-day evaluation.)
What You Can Do
Full die configuration — every parameter from the web app: incoming and finish sizes, bell radius, approach, blend radius, bearing, back relief, nib shape, and nib height mode
Live cross-section — pinch to zoom, drag to pan, with dimensioned geometry and Nib Assist recommendations
Design Library — save configurations on the device and revisit them
Print & export — dimensioned print reports, plus DXF export to bring your geometry into CAD
Save/open files — configurations are interchangeable with the web app
iPhone vs iPad
On iPad, DCT shows the full three-panel layout (parameters, canvas, Nib Assist) just like the web app. On iPhone, the canvas takes the full screen with parameters and dimensions available from the bottom bar — ideal for reviewing and adjusting on the go.
